Children invited to open audition for Bristol production of The King and I

Children keen to tread the boards at the Bristol Hippodrome, are being invited to take part in open auditions for The King and I.

BLOC Productions are behind the show and are looking for some talented youngsters to take part in the Rodgers & Hammerstein’s musical.

The Open auditions are for children aged between 5 and 16 will be held on the 10 July at Clifton College Preparatory School Hall at 10.00am.

Auditionees will be asked to perform the song Getting to know you and perform a simple dance to be learned on the day.

Children should be able to go barefoot for the audition.

This The King and I will run at The Bristol Hippodrome from Tuesday 1st to Saturday 5th November 2011.

Chairman of BLOC Productions, Peter Sutton said: “We are constantly on the lookout for new talent and this is a fantastic opportunity for any young budding actors or actresses to experience treading the boards of a professional stage. We are very excited about this musical and we will be looking for at least 20 children in each cast.”
