Meet a mum website launches

A new free website to help mums make friends has been launched.

Mum Amie, uses dating site technology, to help you find friends based on similar interests and personalities.

It will also help parents with challenging issues including parenting children with disabilities and single parents.

Co-director Aimee Foster says: “the idea came to me about 3 years ago when I was trying to find mum friends of my own. Being the first of my friends to have a baby, I realised that I needed to find some mum friends but I found the whole process difficult and frustrating. When meeting other mums online, it became a regular joke that this was just like dating. And so the idea was born. I now have a great network of mum friends and I wondered if I could make the process easier for other mums. Being a mum can be a lonely experience and Mum Amie aims to help mums forge friendships with other mums based on criteria that is important to them.”
