NNB Generation Company, has submitted an application for sewage to be emptied in the Severn Estuary from Hinkley Point C.

The application, which went to the Environment Agency, will mean treated sewage effluent could come from toilets and waste water during the construction of the proposed nuclear power station near Bridgwater.

NNB Generation Company (HPC) Limited, a subsidiary of EDF Energy, would be discharging up to 1,150 cubic metres of treated sewage each day. The waste will come from wash basins, shower, kitchen and canteen which will be used by the construction workers.
