Autism Friendly Session Brunel’s SS Great Britain Bristol

Autism Session Brunel’s SS Great Britain Bristol

An autism friendly session is taking place at Brunel’s SS Great Britain in Bristol this month.

The popular tourist attraction will be having an early opening session to make the venue more relaxed and accessible to those with additional needs.

The event aims to let people enjoy the ship and museums without the usual crowds of people which can be difficult for people with autism, learning disabilities and communication difficulties to manage.

The event is on Saturday 23 March 2019 from 8.30am – 10am. Admission is £5 with carers going free.

Those attending are welcome to stay once the ship is opened to the general public and may also upgrade to an annual ticket for an additional £5.

The site will have its usual sounds, smells and low lighting but there will be no sudden sounds or flashing screens.

Staff will be on hand to help and a quiet room will be available.
