Clowns: The Eggs-Hibition Clown Eggs at Bristol Museum and Art Gallery

Clown Eggs in Bristol:

If you are looking ahead to filling your family schedule, then Clown Eggs at Bristol Museum and Art Gallery is a quirky event celebrating 250 years of circus.

Did you realise clowns all have a unique identity and appearance? Clowns International has been painting the faces of its members on eggs for over 70 years to preserve and unwritten rule that no clown should copy another’s make-up and costume.

The event is on from 29 September – 06 January 2019 and will also take a look at the origins of clowning and feature costume and archives in an interactive and surreal exhibition.

The event is part of Circus 250 – a national celebration of 250 years of circus in 2018.
