Police Ask For Bristol Hate Crime Witnesses to Come Forward

Bristol Hate Crime:

Bristol police are investigating a hate crime which took place on a First Bus service in the city last month.

A woman described as white, 45 to 50 years old, with brown hair worn in a ponytail and wearing a long skirt, Ugg boots and a cream jumper/gillet subjected another 53 year old female passenger to racial abuse.

The incident took place on Wednesday 14 November on the X39A whilst travelling from Redcliffe to Bristol Temple Meads at around 4pm.

The bus driver ejected the offender from the bus at Temple Meads after being alerted to the crime.

Investigating officer PC Megan Emery said: “This incident was reported to us on Monday 26 November and is being investigated as a hate crime. The actions of the offender were disgraceful and unacceptable.

“I would appeal to anyone who witnessed this incident, or has information which would help us to identify the offender to come forward.

“One man told other passengers he had filmed the incident on his mobile phone. If this was you, please come forward as we’d like to see the footage as soon as possible.”

If you can help, please call 101 and give the call handler the reference number 5218263560
