Mini Messiah family concert
This Mini Messiah is the perfect family entertainment – great music with great tunes and the thrill of seeing hearing a large chorus, professional orchestra and vocal soloists live on stage.
Lasting under an hour, this performance takes all the best bits from Handel’s masterpiece and packs them into a family-friendly afternoon sure to delight, inspire and enthuse anyone of a young age (and those young at heart!).
Last year, hundreds of families enjoyed the first-ever Mini Messiah which was incredibly warmly received, so this year it returns with even more music and more choruses. We have picked out some of the favourites from last year, and added lots of new ones, so this year will include ‘And the glory of the Lord’, ‘For unto us a child is born’ and, of course, the ‘Hallelujah’ chorus.
In under an hour, we will take you on a musical journey of discovery that is entertaining, fun, educational and spellbinding. There will be no complete performance of Messiah by BCS this year, so this will be the only chance to hear the choir’s trademark performance of this traditional season masterpiece, renowned for the clarity, articulation, vitality and emotional impact of the singing – all performed from memory, of course!
An unmissable musical treat for all ages!
