St Paul’s Carnival Family Fun Day and Display Launch M Shed Bristol

Free Family Event in Central Bristol

A free family fun day will be taking place at M Shed this month. The event will celebrate the launch of a new exhibition at the Bristol museum as well as create costume pieces for the St Paul’s Carnival this summer.

One Vibration: Voices of St Paul’s Carnival, will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the event in Bristol. It will present oral history from community stories and exhibit the work of two artists with African-Caribbean heritage, specially created for the display. This will include illustration by Jasmine Thompson and photography by Aiden Harmitt-Williams.

Families will be able to make headdresses, masks and wristbands whilst being told stories about the carnival event over the years.

The event is at M Shed on Saturday 21 April, running from 11am – 3pm.
