Somerset students produce tooth care DVD for kids
Young children and the learning disabled will be taught the importance of caring for their teeth through a new DVD video.
The educational film called ‘Teeth the Musical’ is a 13 minute long animation aiming to help youngsters get a better understanding about why and how to care for their teeth and avoid tooth decay.
Students at Brigwater College worked with Somerset video production company JUMPcuts to produce the film, taking four months and working with professional animators and musicians.
The film features Fred, a young boy who avoids a trip to the dentist and is warned by his teeth what will happen if he doesn’t look after them.
Free copies of the DVD will be given to local special needs schools and the film will also be promoted as an educational aid to primary schools in Somerset and the South West.
Organisations interested in obtaining copies of the DVD “Teeth the Musical” should contact the Somerset Primary Care Dental Service by telephoning: 01278 436622.
