UK children don't do English dishes

Kids are shunning traditional British dishes in favour of European and oriental dishes.

The results come from a survey commissioned by home appliance brand Belling, who wanted to discover the nation’s current dinner time dishes.

Britain’s under 35s are turning their back on traditional British recipes such as stew, steak and kidney pie, instead preferring to make Italian and Chinese meals.

When it came to the under 16s, a shocking 35 per cent have never had a rice pudding and six per cent think toad-in-the-hole is made with toads legs.

Unsurprisingly, tripe, jellied eels, pigs trotters and dripping were the least tasted traditional English dishes.
