National Bookstart week starts at Bristol libraries Friday 9 October

Pre-school children across Bristol are invited to take part in National Bookstart Day on Friday 9 October.

The pre-school reading scheme sees babies and toddlers given free books to encourage an early love of reading.

Bookstart are backing this up with a week of celebrating reading for pleasure starting on Monday 5 October.

Bristol libraries are gearing up for the event and this year’s theme is ‘My Favourite Nursery Rhyme’.

Children attending a National Bookstart day event at a Bristol library will be given their own Nursery Rhyme Booklet to take home.
