The show celebrates its 60th Anniversary, with scenes for the Specials filmed in Bristol
If you were at the filming of Doctor Who in Bristol for the 60th Anniversary Specials, there was a lot more going on than David Tennant.
Hours of footage emerging from the event was examined in forensic detail by fans online, eager to pull out clues to the storylines.
No one who was there can forget those blistering summer days filled with the filming of chaotic crowd scenes. David Tennant was doing his best Serious Look and Stressed Head Rub slap bang centre.
But we love a supporting actor in the background – also known as Extras, Supporting Artistes or Background Artistes.
Here’s to all those people fighting over ice creams, running with bizarre items – including Pink Dog Man. We can’t wait to see it live on TV
Our Doctor Who Bristol Filming Bingo, with some of the best bits we’re looking out for
The Doctor Who 60th anniversary specials are made up of three hour-long episodes.
Titles and broadcast dates are:
- The Star Beast – Saturday 25 November 2023
- Wild Blue Yonder – Saturday 20 December 2023
- The Giggle – Saturday 09 December 2023
All episodes are written by Russell T Davies. Each special is directed – in order – by Rachel Talalay, Tom Kingsley and Chanya Button.
Our best guess is that the Bristol scenes are likely to appear in The Giggle.
