Social divide hit teen worries

Teenagers from low income families worry about bullying, drugs and smoking but teenagers from higher income families worry more about peer pressure and fitting in.

Being accepted by peers concerned 40 per cent of high income families, whilst this was a worry for just 32 per cent on lower incomes.

Bullying was a worry for 41 per cent of kids from poorer families, but only concerned 21 per cent of well off teenagers.

The research was carried out for the NHS Teen LifeCheck website on behalf of the Department of Health.
