Pupils at Bristol secondary schools are achieving their best ever GCSE results.<\/p>\n
Figures just released show GCSE results in the city’s schools are improving faster than ever.<\/p>\n
The school results have increased by six percentage points since last year.<\/p>\n
In 2005, 30 per cent of Bristol pupils were gaining five or more GCSEs with a A* to C grade.<\/p>\n
This has now increased to 46 per cent and includes both Maths and English.<\/p>\n
Director for Children, Young People and Skills, Annie Hudson, said: \u201cThere is still plenty of work to do to, both to further raise achievement overall, and in particular to narrow educational gaps for certain groups, such as children from black and minority ethnic groups, and children who grow up in care. I am confident that we have the right foundations in place for continued educational improvement in Bristol and by working together we will secure the best possible outcomes for all our young people.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
