A new and safe mirror has been developed to assist midwives and mums in labour. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Virginia Howes, an independent midwife from Ashford in Kent developed a stainless steel mirror for maternity departments and birthing units in a bid to increase the country\u2019s low normal birth rate.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Being made from polished stainless steel I can be sterilised, which can\u2019t be done with breakable glass or plastic.<\/p>\n

Virginia who runs Kent Midwifery Practice, one of the busiest private
\nmidwifery businesses in the UK, said “The mirror is made from highly
\npolished stainless steel so it can be sterilised unlike glass mirrors, it
\nwill not break, has no sharp edges and is angled so a there is a good view
\nof baby for midwife and mother in whatever position the mother chooses to
\nbirth in”<\/span><\/p>\n
