There is a plethora of baby groups all promising to stimulate your baby and boost their development by whatever special ingredient they offer.<\/p>\n
But one that stands out amongst the crowd is Baby Sensory<\/strong>. This one is a must for all parents seeking that perfect magic mix of music, signing, visual stimulation and the company of other new mothers and babies.<\/p>\n \u201cWe loved how the session starts with lots of singing and signing,\u201d Chopsy Baby’s Debbie Smith says.<\/p>\n \u201cBaby sensory uses baby signing, a simplified signing system compatible with Makaton and British Sign Language,\u201d she explains. \u00a0 Debbie visited the Southville Baby Sensory session, run by an enthusiastic and animated class leader. \u201cHe engaged every single child and parent in the room,\u201d she says.\u00a0<\/p>\n There is a lovely balance of original and well known songs.<\/p>\n \u201cWe really loved the opening song of \u2018Say Hello to the Sun\u2019, and we have been singing this non stop ever since the class.\u201d<\/p>\n The class makes excellent use of props, with this session featuring a giant blow up boat for the babies to sit in. There were plenty of fish for the them to chew and bubbles and songs to enjoy.<\/p>\n \u201cWhat I did really like was that Baby Jacob really loved one of the toys. When that section of props was finished with I didn\u2019t feel under pressure to prise it off of him and give it back until he had finished exploring it.<\/p>\n \u201cWe also didn\u2019t have to sing any manic songs about getting the prop out, waving it at the child, then\u00a0wrenching it off of them and expecting the child not to scream at this.\u201d The best thing of all was that the group leader sprang and I mean sprang into life and was able to brush up all the oats that were thrown around within minutes. The amount of equipment, props and visual stimulation is truly unbelievable. This group is a must to be checked out.<\/p>\n

\nOne of the most memorable parts of the session was when the babies were given porridge oats and seashells to feel. Baby Jacob who was only a few months old really enjoyed the texture of something small to feel on his feet and fingers.<\/p>\n

\nWhile the porridge oats were being cleared up, parents and babies were able to have a break from the planned session and play with toys that had been set up. Baby Jacob loved the beautiful hand puppets.<\/p>\n
