Busy roads in the West are set to receive more funds after the region exceeded congestion tackling targets.<\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The Government\u2019s Urban Congestion Performance Fund will be paying out more than \u00a3536,000.<\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The money from the Department for Transport will be used to continue to help tackle urban congestion on routes in Bath and North East Somerset, Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire.<\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Transport Minister Paul Clark said: “I am delighted that the West of England is being rewarded for beating its congestion targets. The money will help local authorities give road users in these areas faster, safer and more reliable journeys – benefitting the local economy. <\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n “Congestion has serious consequences for the economy and the environment and is a frustrating experience for all road users.
