Yet even though we are using more electrical products than ever before, there is a worrying gap between the public\u2019s perception of electrical danger and the reality, with people making simple yet potentially fatal errors that can be easily prevented.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Research from ESC finds that people are having accidents when repairing appliances still plugged in, using faulty sockets and even ignoring burning smells.<\/p>\n<p>The new ESC app will help people complete a quick visual check of a property to make sure it is electrically safe and highlight potential dangers.<\/p>\n<p>For more information on all aspects of electrical safety visit the ESC website at\u00a0<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.esc.org.uk\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">www.esc.org.uk<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A new smart phone safety app has just been launched to help stop accidents involving electricity.
