Because around 50 per cent of them expect their children’s school to impart to them all the cultural knowledge they should know.<\/p>\n
According to research of 2,000 parents with children aged from 5 to 12 years of age from Visit Birmingham, four in 10 children have never seen the inside of an art gallery, while 17 per cent haven\u2019t visited a museum with their parents.<\/p>\n
A 25 per cent had also never been to the theatre and 6 in 10 never heard or seen a classical music concert.<\/p>\n
Spokesperson for Visit Birmingham, Emma Gray said: \u201cThere\u2019s no doubt that cultural activity enriches day to day and it\u2019s important that children embrace our history and culture now, to ensure that is it passed on through the generations.<\/p>\n
\u201cA few trips during the year to museums, landmarks or even cultural festivals will prove to be memorable, informative and fun occasions for youngsters.\u201d<\/p>\n
