Parents are so busy trying to cram cooking, cleaning and chores into their day, that seven out of ten mums say they have to leave their children unsupervised to do so.<\/p>\n
But a study of 3,000 mums found that 40 per cent admitted their child had hurt themselves during this time.<\/p>\n
In fairness to busy mums, many of the accidents could just have easily occurred had she been giving her full attention.<\/p>\n
Falling off the sofa, trips in the garden, slips on a floor, or head bumps on a sharp corner were the incidents most likely to happen.<\/p>\n
But one in six managed to fall down the stairs, and the same number again were hurt in fights with their siblings.<\/p>\n
Lindam found accidents mostly occurred while mum was cooking the evening meal with tired, fractious children were taking advantage of backs being turned.<\/p>\n
