Zoinks! Scooby-Doo and\u00a0his gang have been given a Jim Henson style make over, for this gentle version of the crime fighting mystery series.<\/p>\n

There’s the obligatory scary creatures such as Phantom Parrot and Oscar the Grouch styled pirate Gnarlybeard.<\/p>\n

Somehow, the puppets work well and the format is much better for younger children than the brash original TV series with its tedious canned laughter.<\/p>\n

The stereotypical characters of Freddie, Velma and Daphne are no less tiresome for parents, but the DVD is excellent for early evening before bedtime while you Mumsnet.<\/del><\/span><\/p>\n
