A 37 per cent of parents admit they break legal speed limits while they are driving with their children in the car.<\/p>\n
Being in a rush was the reason cited by most in a poll by VoucherCodesPro.co.uk.<\/p>\n
Worryingly, around half of those who broke speed laws didn’t think it was putting their child at any extra risk.<\/p>\n
And, more than one in ten drivers also said they didn’t wear a seatbelt when driving their child around.<\/p>\n
If findings couldn’t get any worse, an 18 per cent also admitted to letting their children get away without using a car seat when they were legally required to do so.<\/p>\n
A total of 2,284 UK parents with children aged 13 years of age and below took part in the survey.<\/p>\n
Founder and CEO of VoucherCodesPro.co.uk, Nick Swan said: “I have to say that I am appalled at the results of our recent research. Every single person should drive within the speed limit and wear a seatbelt, whether it is in front of their children or not.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cTo do so in front of your children is awful. It\u2019s important to teach children the important of safety from a young age and not set bad examples for them. Be safe for your own good and your child\u2019s.
