If you’ve found it easier than usual to get through to HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) Tax Credits helpline, it could be because 750,000 people completed their annual renewal online.<\/p>\n
According to HMRC statistics, half of these people completed their renewal using a mobile phone or tablet, with the other half using a computer or laptop.<\/p>\n
A 950,000 people still phoned their renewal information in by phone and more than one million used the post option.<\/p>\n
HMRC\u2019s Director General, Benefits and Credits, Nick Lodge\u00a0said: \u201cIt\u2019s great to see so many more people renewing online this year \u2013 and giving the service the thumbs-up.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s really important that people renew by the deadline to ensure their payments don\u2019t stop. If you still need to renew, you need to contact us urgently.\u201d<\/p>\n
Anyone who has not yet renewed their tax credits but should have done so should call HMRC\u2019s tax credits helpline (0345 300 3900) immediately to ensure their payments do not stop.<\/p>\n
