Britain’s children are a stressed out bunch, with education, social media and peer pressure weighing down on them like never before.<\/p>\n
In fact, a survey of 2000 parents revealed that six out of ten children are feeling incredibly pressured to do well academically, with 80 per cent saying they felt the need to push their children hard with extra scheduled activities.<\/p>\n
Peer pressure is also stressed out 62 per cent of children and 50 per cent found their confidence and happiness dented by social media.<\/p>\n
NHS Doctor and child health specialist, Dr Ranj Singh, comments: \u201cKids today are under increasing pressure which not only limits their individuality and sense of self, but can also result in them feeling inadequate.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cThe younger we can start empowering and instilling confidence in kids the better. Having a special \u2018thing\u2019 whether a hobby, interest or special skill that they discover themselves can not only help build confidence and self-esteem but will also help set them up for future challenges.”<\/p>\n
Most parents feel there is too much pressure for children to keep up with what society expects of them, the findings from the Fruit Shoot research says.<\/p>\n
