Apparently, parents-to-be secretly have a gender preference whilst they are pregnant, according to a study by ChannelMum.com.<\/p>\n
More than 2000 mums were polled by the site, with more than a third saying they did not admit to anyone\u00a0about their personal gender preference.<\/p>\n
Four in five of the website’s\u00a0demographic thought it was perfectly normal to prefer one sex over another.<\/p>\n
Most wanted a girl, with two in five mums yearning for one compared to 18 per cent who wanted a son.<\/p>\n
Proving the Pregnant Pound is a burgeoning business, 35 per cent of mums-to-be said they wanted a ‘gender reveal’ party, exposing friends and family to the never-ending tedium of politely pretending to be interested in somebody else’s fetal gestation.<\/p>\n
When the baby finally arrived, a quarter of mums said they felt very disappointed if they didn’t get the gender they wished for, with some saying this affected their bond and relationship with their child.<\/p>\n
A 41 per cent of these mums tried again for better gender luck in the next conception, with 26 carrying on for a third correctly gendered child and 10 per cent having four or more children simply to get the boy or girl they craved.<\/p>\n
The selfless reasons mums-to-be preferred a baby girl to a baby boy were because girls stay closer to their parents after growing up, girls are more fun to dress up and in third place, girls are better behaved.<\/p>\n
