It must be one of the banes of headteachers nationwide. Playground sniping about which trainers to wear and which phones to own. And, the sneering isn’t going away anytime soon.<\/p>\n
According to findings from a poll by VoucherCodesPro, two thirds of primary school children have come home upset about negative comments made by their classmates.<\/p>\n
More than 2000 British parents took part in the survey, with per cent of them saying that their child had come home on at least one occasion upset about an unkind comment made about them. They will surely feel assured that 83 per cent of parents merely put the ‘nasty’ comments down to ‘kids being kids’.<\/p>\n
A 50 per cent of children came home sad because other children\u00a0excluded them from play. But shockingly, 42 per cent made fun of the fact that the child did not have the ‘latest technology or gadgets.’<\/p>\n
Bitching about the clothes they wear upset 39 per cent of children and 13 per cent apparently did not have the latest toys.<\/p>\n
Sensibly, a 41 per cent of parents whose child was being bullied approached either the headteacher or class teacher to resolve the situation. A less than ideal 31 per cent believed the best course of action was to go steaming up to the parent of the ‘bulling’ child. Staying away from that child in the playground was the advice given by the remaining 28 per cent.<\/p>\n
