Apparently because half term is coming, parents should stop their children wrecking the house. It would seem to be a basic parenting requirement, but CompareTheMarket.com warns that children aged between two and ten years of age cause around \u00a3252 worth of damage every year.<\/p>\n
A 59 per cent of parents couldn’t get worked up about smashed items, believing that chaotic behaviour is just part of growing up. And 47 per cent decided to leave replaying damaged items until children were old enough to know better.<\/p>\n
So according to CompareTheMarket.com, what are the top ten items most likely to be destroyed by the 2-10 years group?<\/p>\n
Carpets 41 per cent
\nWalls 34 per cent
\nOrnaments 32 per cent
\nClothes 31 per cent
\nSofas \/ chairs 30 per cent
\nLaptops \/ tablets 24 per cent
\nTVs 18 per cent
\nBooks \/ magazines 18 per cent
\nMobile phones 17 per cent
\nShoes 17 per cent<\/p>\n
So clothes, magazines and shoes are very much par for the course. They are working items, things that will be grown out of and are expected to be replaced. But the 1000 parents who took part in the research this month might want to question the effectiveness of their parenting techniques.<\/p>\n
