With windows firmly closed to the cold and the heating cranked up, it&#8217;s the perfect environment for indoor allergens to strike.<\/p>\n<p>If you are a pet owner, the chances are you are sharing the space with airborne particles of pet dander &#8211; that&#8217;s microscopic bits of dead skin and saliva which animals specialise in spreading everywhere.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s not just dog dander that can make eyes itchy and red or cause runny noses and sinus pain. Cats are more allergenic than dogs because their dander is smaller, finer and will float in the air for longer. That headache and\u00a0 sneezing might not be the common cold coming, it could be bits of your cat in your nasal passages.<\/p>\n<p>So what can you do about it? HayMax say their organic barrier balm suitable for all the family and applied around the nostrils and bones of the eyes will trap pet dander.<\/p>\n<p>But there other steps they recommend taking in addition to this.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ensure your pet is well groomed and shampooed as much as possible to remove pet allergens.<\/li>\n<li>Keep pets off sofas and beds, and out of the bedroom altogether if possible.<\/li>\n<li>Vacuum regularly to reduce the amount of pet dander around the home. It may also be beneficial to install \u201cAllergy Friendly\u201d flooring.<\/li>\n<li>Damp dust regularly to reduce the amount of pet dander on surfaces, and to reduce the amount dispersed into the air.<\/li>\n<li>Use an organic, drug free allergen barrier balm.\u00a0 Apply the balm around the nostrils and bones of the eyes in the morning and throughout the day, to trap pet allergens before they enter the body where they can cause symptoms. Less allergen, less reaction.<\/li>\n<li>Keep cuddly toys and blankets in a cupboard to prevent the build up of allergens on them.<\/li>\n<li>Consider using an air filter\/purifier with a HEPA (High Efficiency Particle Arresting) filter to capture the pet allergen particles and cool and circulate the air.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Applying HayMax allergen barrier balm two or three times a day provides a highly effective, invisible barrier to pet allergens.
