For those who remember its slow and dilapidated return to the South West, the ship has come so far. The destroyed, rusted shell of a ship has been restored to its former glory, as much as possible, with a great deal of care and engineering genius.<\/p>\n<p>The brilliant entry price allows return visits for up to a year, making this the perfect investment for families in Bristol who are likely to return again and again.<\/p>\n<p>The Great Britain is ideal for children aged two years upwards with their families. During weekday term times, a stroll along the waterfront from MShed to the ship is the perfect day out. There&#8217;s so much to see and experience along the way. There&#8217;s ships, boats, cranes, railway, a ferry ride and of course, exploring each deck of the ship, trying on costumes and seeing the ship as the passengers would have done.<\/p>\n<p>Can it get any better? Well yes. The brand new <strong>Being Brunel<\/strong> takes visitors into the world and mind of engineer Isambard Kingdom Brunel, an extraordinary genius which is put into context in this new attraction.<\/p>\n<p>There&#8217;s a perfect balance between artefact and hands-on experience here. Youngsters will be able to pop on a top hat and pose in front of the famous and iconic chains.<\/p>\n<p>You can explore rooms from Brunel&#8217;s life, set yourself a challenge in a moving train carriage and watch a movie that looks at some of the darker aspects of the engineer&#8217;s journeys.<\/p>\n<p>There is also a projection bringing to life the Great Western Railway in incredibly detail.<\/p>\n<p>Safely behind glass walls are Brunel&#8217;s original designs in breathtaking detail as well as artefacts from his life.<\/p>\n<p>Dominating the hall is a gigantic statue of the engineer&#8217;s face.\u00a0 Displays featuring child friendly bite-sized chunks of information puts the enormity of the man&#8217;s achievements during his lifetime into simple birthday cake graphics which helps visitors grasp timelines and project scales.<\/p>\n<p>The more you think about Brunel, the more you wonder how on earth he managed to achieve so many enormous, ground breaking projects. This is the perfect place to celebrate engineering at its finest.<\/p>\n<p>Being Brunel is a\u00a0 child friendly environment which will hopefully inspire and challenge children to become the engineers and designers of the future.
