{"id":3547,"date":"2009-07-28T09:49:21","date_gmt":"2009-07-28T09:49:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/chopsybaby.com\/mag\/?p=3547"},"modified":"2018-07-02T13:57:06","modified_gmt":"2018-07-02T12:57:06","slug":"kids-love-pesto-more-than-any-other-meal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/chopsybaby.com\/magazine\/kids-love-pesto-more-than-any-other-meal\/","title":{"rendered":"Kids love Pesto more than any other meal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We already know it here at Chopsy Baby, now its official: kids love pasta more than any other meal, and they love it most with pesto.<\/p>\n<p>A recent survey by Oxford Children\u2019s Food Festival showed that the meal is more popular than pizza, chips and curry.<\/p>\n<p>The final results were:<\/p>\n<p>1\u00a0 Pesto and Pasta<br \/>\n2\u00a0 Macaroni Cheese<br \/>\n3\u00a0 Toad in the Hole<br \/>\n4\u00a0 Spaghetti Bolognese<br \/>\n5 Bangers and Mash<br \/>\n6 Chinese<br \/>\n7 Chicken and chips<br \/>\n8 Chicken Curry<br \/>\n9 Roast Dinners<br \/>\n10 Pizzas<\/p>\n<p>If you haven&#8217;t tried pasta and Pesto yet, here is a simple recipe from Sacla&#8217;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Pesto all Genovese<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Ingredients:<\/p>\n<p>250g of linguine<br \/>\n250g of potatoes cut into 2cm (1in) chunks<br \/>\n150g of green beans, cut into 2cm (1 in) pieces<br \/>\n\u00bd jar of Sacla\u2019 Classic Pesto or Organic Green Pesto<br \/>\n6 tbsp of double cream or cr\u00e8me freche<br \/>\n3 tbsp of freshly grated Grana Padano cheese<br \/>\nFreshly ground black pepper<\/p>\n<p>Method:<\/p>\n<p>Bring a large pan of water to the boil and cook the potatoes for five minutes.\u00a0 Add the pasta to the pan and cook for another five minutes.<\/p>\n<p>Lastly add the cut beans to the pan and cook for a further two to three minutes.<br \/>\nDrain the pasta, potatoes and vegetables and make sure you hold back a cupful of the cooking water.<\/p>\n<p>Turn it all into a heated serving dish and mix in the Sacla\u2019 Pesto, the cream, the Grana Padano and two or three tablespoons of the cooking water.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3546\" title=\"pesto\" src=\"http:\/\/chopsybaby.com\/magazine\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/07\/pesto.gif\" alt=\"pesto\" width=\"250\" height=\"141\" srcset=\"https:\/\/chopsybaby.com\/magazine\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/07\/pesto.gif 250w, https:\/\/chopsybaby.com\/magazine\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/07\/pesto-195x110.gif 195w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 250px) 100vw, 250px\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We already know it here at Chopsy Baby, now its official: kids love pasta more than any other meal, and<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":16,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"colormag_page_container_layout":"default_layout","colormag_page_sidebar_layout":"default_layout","footnotes":""},"categories":[6],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-3547","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-bristol-news"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.5 -
