The stories that probably happen in Bristol:<\/em><\/p>\n

Residents in Totterdown have become embroiled in a dispute after a householder removed colourful paint from the facade of his home.<\/p>\n

The area is a famous Bristol landmark featuring rows of individually painted houses set in rows across the city’s skyline.<\/p>\n

A local resident who did not wish to be named said: “It’s a disgrace that someone has moved into our community and immediately tried to make their mark by having the front of their home a neutral colour. We don’t want beige here.”<\/p>\n

The row spilled onto Facebook page Totterdown Connect, with some backing the new resident.<\/p>\n

Samantha Jones-Elliot wrote: ‘I think he has a right to have his home the colour he wishes. He’s paid for it after all.’<\/p>\n

But others were not in agreement, with Jonathan Myers-Jameson saying it was ‘disgraceful’ that outsiders moving into the Bristol area were not prepared to keep the glowing pink bricks.<\/p>\n

Officers from Avon and Somerset attended the address after local people armed with pink paint and brushes were discovered on the property at midnight yesterday.<\/p>\n

A spokesperson for the police said: ‘We urge residents not to take the law into their own hands and paint other people’s homes. You can report your neighbours anonymously to Crimestoppers.”<\/p>\n
