Delighted school children in Bristol are hitting government targets in this year’s GCSE results.<\/p>\n
A whopping 40 per cent of students in the city gained five or more GCSEs at grade A* to C including English and Maths.<\/p>\n
These results hit the government’s key performance measure targets.<\/p>\n
Already this is an increase on the last year’s results which have jumped dramatically during the last five years.<\/p>\n
Strategic Director for Children, Young People and Skills, Annie Hudson, said: \u201cReaching 40% of students gaining\u00a0five or more GCSEs at grade A* to C including English and Maths is a real milestone for Bristol – well done to all the young people whose hard work has helped us get there. This is a sign of sustained progress and parents should be confident that Bristol schools are delivering a quality education for their children and helping them reach their full potential.
