Children in the South West and Wales are not getting their recommended daily amount of water.<\/p>\n
The World Health Organisation recommends that children drink between 6 and 8 glasses a day.<\/p>\n
Research by bottled water brand Highland Spring, found that only six per cent of children drink the\u00a0 amount necessary for their health.<\/p>\n
Children in the Wales and South West region came bottom of the charts drinking the least amount of water of all kids in the UK, with a massive 99 per cent of parents failing to make sure that their child drank enough.<\/p>\n
Marketing director of Highland Spring, Sally Stanley said: \u201cParents are very aware of the quality of food they provide in their children\u2019s lunch-boxes, but it is surprising how often the quality of the drinks they provide are overlooked. I am certain that parents assume that drinking water is readily available and accessible at school, but this is not always the case.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf children become conditioned at a young age to enjoy sugary soft drinks, then it could be a difficult habit to break.
