This is more than twice the legal time frame of 20 weeks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When families or young people make a request for a plan, they submit what is called an Education Health Care Needs Assessment (EHCNA) to their local authority. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bristol City Council says it has seen a &#8216;decrease&#8217; in the number of EHCNAs it received in February this year compared to February 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/chopsybaby.com\/magazine\/wp-content\/uploads\/Bristol-City-Council-EHCPs-late.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"926\" height=\"258\" src=\"https:\/\/chopsybaby.com\/magazine\/wp-content\/uploads\/Bristol-City-Council-EHCPs-late.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-45637\" srcset=\"https:\/\/chopsybaby.com\/magazine\/wp-content\/uploads\/Bristol-City-Council-EHCPs-late.jpg 926w, https:\/\/chopsybaby.com\/magazine\/wp-content\/uploads\/Bristol-City-Council-EHCPs-late-300x84.jpg 300w, https:\/\/chopsybaby.com\/magazine\/wp-content\/uploads\/Bristol-City-Council-EHCPs-late-768x214.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 926px) 100vw, 926px\" \/><\/a><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Bristol EHCP data from Children and Young People Policy Committee Update Report<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But the council only managed to finalise 1 per cent of plans issued in February 2025 within 20 weeks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The year to date timeliness for the EHCP process from EHCNA request to a finalised plan is just 3 per cent.
