Burglary hotspots in Bristol have been checked out this September by Safer Bristol in a bid to cut crime.<\/p>\n
Redland, Cotham, Bishopston, Montpelier and Ashley Down are priority areas accounting for 20 per cent of Bristol burglaries but with just ten per cent of the city’s houses.<\/p>\n
A series of walkabouts have been taking place in these areas by Safer Bristol, a partnership of agencies working together to make the city safer.<\/p>\n
Representatives from the Police, Bristol City Council’s Clean and Green Team and the Housing Department will walk the areas looking how to improve security and seeking out houses at risk of burglary.<\/p>\n
Community Safety Officer behind the scheme, Georgie Bryant said: \u201cBy organising these walkabouts as a multi-agency approach, we can all share the problems in the target areas and together ensure that solutions are found quickly. \u201cThe walkabouts are a great way to get right to the root of the problem and build community confidence.
