{"id":599,"date":"2008-12-11T10:22:37","date_gmt":"2008-12-11T10:22:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/chopsybaby.com\/mag\/?p=599"},"modified":"2018-07-02T13:59:00","modified_gmt":"2018-07-02T12:59:00","slug":"how-to-keep-your-kids-amused-for-20-minutes-while-you-are-incredibly-busy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/chopsybaby.com\/magazine\/how-to-keep-your-kids-amused-for-20-minutes-while-you-are-incredibly-busy\/","title":{"rendered":"How to&#8230; Keep your kids amused for 20 minutes while you are incredibly busy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>There are a gazillion things to do around this time of year, and if you are finding you can&#8217;t get on with anything whilst being pestered by bored children get them using up their Christmas excitement with some quick and easy crafts.<\/p>\n<p>These activities need next to no setting up and can be as simple or complicated as you like.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Activity One &#8211; The Credit Crunch Christmas Card<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/chopsybaby.com\/magazine\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/12\/card.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-603\" title=\"card\" src=\"http:\/\/chopsybaby.com\/magazine\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/12\/card.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"341\" srcset=\"https:\/\/chopsybaby.com\/magazine\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/12\/card.jpg 400w, https:\/\/chopsybaby.com\/magazine\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/12\/card-300x255.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Reduce your outgoings by having the children make their own Christmas cards for relatives. This one took about 30 seconds.<\/p>\n<p>1. Get card.<br \/>\n2. Fold card in half.<br \/>\n3. Dunk child&#8217;s hand in paint.<br \/>\n4. Sprinkle some glitter over glue.<br \/>\n5. Job done.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Activity Two &#8211; The Snowflake Decoration<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/chopsybaby.com\/magazine\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/12\/snowflake.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-600\" title=\"snowflake\" src=\"http:\/\/chopsybaby.com\/magazine\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/12\/snowflake.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"343\" srcset=\"https:\/\/chopsybaby.com\/magazine\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/12\/snowflake.jpg 400w, https:\/\/chopsybaby.com\/magazine\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/12\/snowflake-300x257.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Remember these from school? All you need is some white paper, we took ours out of the printer. If your children can be trusted with a paint brush then you can get them to paint and decorate the paper first.<\/p>\n<p>1. Get white paper.<br \/>\n2. Fold in half, and half again.<br \/>\n3. Cut out zig zag shapes being careful not to cut the entire thing in half.<br \/>\n4. Unfold.<br \/>\n5. Job done.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Activity Three &#8211; The Links Decoration<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/chopsybaby.com\/magazine\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/12\/links.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-602\" title=\"links\" src=\"http:\/\/chopsybaby.com\/magazine\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/12\/links.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"213\" srcset=\"https:\/\/chopsybaby.com\/magazine\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/12\/links.jpg 400w, https:\/\/chopsybaby.com\/magazine\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/12\/links-300x159.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Again, remember these from school? Again if your children are not going to decorate the walls and carpet give them paint ad glitter to decorate first.<\/p>\n<p>1. Get white paper and scissors &#8211; supervise with scissors<br \/>\n2. Cut paper into stips<br \/>\n3. Glue or tape strip into a circle.<br \/>\n4. Repeat with strips linking them together and continue until bored<br \/>\n5.
