It’s congratulations to Windmill Hill City Farm, as their fundraising campaign hits the \u00a350,000 total in just six months.<\/p>\n
Hitting hard times during the summer, the farm’s future was threatened unless the urgently needed funds could be raised to plug the cash shortfall.<\/p>\n
The popular community farm in the heart of Bedminster, is a vital resource to locals, providing courses, childcare and an inner city agricultural learning opportunity for children.<\/p>\n
The farm’s future was secured through a series of fundraising events and an online pledge, successfully raising the money needed to make it through 2010.<\/p>\n
Head of the Save Our Farm Committee at WHCF, said:\u00a0 “This is not the end of the fundraising road\u00a0 – it is only the beginning\u00a0but we hope this marks a new era with a re-energised farm, re-igniting people’s interest and support\u00a0for what we do. This\u00a0\u00a350k hugely helps the farm get through to the end of the financial year and has helped raise our profile so that new more long term fundraising may now start to come in. These are tough financial times for all charities but this city farm is determined to keep up the fight.”<\/p>\n
