have created the perfect showcase for South West cultural heritage.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a drives like mad before it blows up<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The <strong>151st North Somerset Show<\/strong>, continues to be a jewel in the run of regional agricultural events, rewarded by crowds in their thousands.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/chopsybaby.com\/magazine\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/Photo1187.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full center;\"><strong>Sheep Racing<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The well organised event was easy to get to, easy to park and this year, easier to leave.<\/p>\n<p>The showground is a twenty minute drive from central Bristol, based in the beautiful Wraxall countryside, partly greater Bristol with a firm foot in North Somerset.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/chopsybaby.com\/magazine\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/Photo1214.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-7983 aligncenter\" title=\"Photo1214\" src=\"http:\/\/chopsybaby.com\/magazine\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/Photo1214.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/chopsybaby.com\/magazine\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/Photo1214.jpg 400w, https:\/\/chopsybaby.com\/magazine\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/Photo1214-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The field, thanks to the mainly dry weather was easy enough terrain to push a four-wheeled city stroller buggy around with no difficulties.<\/p>\n<p>Plenty of clean toilets placed around the site left us queueing for little more than five minutes.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/chopsybaby.com\/magazine\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/Photo1212.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-7982 aligncenter\" title=\"Photo1212\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Highly polished competition cows<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The usual presence of hot and cold food vendors catered for those who didn&#8217;t get around to packing a picnic.<\/p>\n<p>Getting to the show early is best if you want to spend time wandering around trade and craft stalls.<\/p>\n<p>Later in the day, these areas can become congested.<\/p>\n<p>There is plenty to catch the eye of children and events function as both entertainment and education.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a <strong>Phil Smith<\/strong> from <strong>Sticks and Stones Conservation<\/strong>, took a break from walling in the show to cast his eye over the day&#8217;s events with Chopsy Baby.<\/p>\n<p>Phil writes: The North Somerset Show is an uncommercialised show that brings the heart of the countryside to within the reach of the town.<\/p>\n<p>This year was no exception, being packed full of informative, approachable exhibitors, who were happy to stand back and talk to people about the work they were doing.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>African Keyhole Gardening<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>There was something there for everybody that went and so many excellent performances and demonstrations to enjoy.<\/p>\n<p>My show highlights were the performances from the Sheepshow, the dry stone walling and the dog scurrying.<\/p>\n<p>Stands such as the Dry Stone Walling Association, provided a fantastic learning opportunity for children.<\/p>\n<p>Even preschoolers were able to complete a fun and practical puzzle building their own drystone wall and receiving a certificate.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/chopsybaby.com\/magazine\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/Photo1192.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" stand<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>There was a broad network of skills going on across the show, educating young ones about the countryside, how it is managed and of course, how to maintain and protect it.<\/p>\n<p>It was fantastic to see traditional farming methods really drawing in the children, especially the threshing machine<\/p>\n<p>The event was a manageable size to walk around and well
