Rightly or wrongly, it seems the nation’s teenagers feel under pressure to keep their parents happy – whether this means adopting their football team or going to an approved university.<\/p>\n
A staggering 71 per cent of teens revealed in a poll that they support the same football team as their parents.<\/p>\n
It appears the Conservative coalition will be around for some time to come as 54 per cent even said they were more likely to back the same political party as mum or dad.<\/p>\n
Impressing their parents was found to be a big deal when it came to making decisions with 17 per cent feeling \u2018pressured\u2019 by their parents.<\/p>\n
For 7 per cent of young people, parents even chose which university their child would go to.<\/p>\n
Previous research by MyVoucherCodes.co.uk, found that the favoured careers parents of children aged birth to four years coveted for their child was as a doctor, lawyer or scientist.<\/p>\n
Whilst teens revealed they felt the parent pressure, 92\u00a0 per cents of mums and dads simply wanted their child to grow up to be happy and just 18 per cent agreed they would be one of those ‘pushy parents’.<\/p>\n
Just 9 per cent of parents admitted they would be disappointed if their child failed to reach their career expectations.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
