The pressure of working commitments is forcing parents to miss important events in their children’s school year.<\/p>\n
In total, 46 per cent of working parents admitted to missing sports day, school plays and even important parents’ evenings.<\/p>\n
Throughout the academic year, one in ten parents are forced to miss more than four key events simply because they were under such pressure to work harder.<\/p>\n
It is unsurprising with such high levels of work commitment that 29 per cent feared they were becoming distanced from their children.<\/p>\n
The research by Kleeneze, revealed that parents felt under pressure from their employer to work longer, rigid hours with working times only to be changed in an emergency \u2013 if at all.<\/p>\n
Managing director of Kleeneze, Jamie Stewart said: “Clearly many parents are missing out on key events during their children’s school life because of what seems like harsh work commitments.<\/p>\n
