Parents are calling on the Government to take more action combating the menace of crime and antisocial behaviour caused by drinking alcohol.<\/p>\n
A survey by parenting website Netmums, found 60 per cent of parents felt excessive drinking by young people caused problems in their local area.<\/p>\n
A further 50 per cent of these parents felt that more consultation should take place with local residents when decisions are made about granting late night licences.<\/p>\n
Netmums spokesperson Sally Russell said: \u201cThe issues surrounding drinking and alcohol laws are of tremendous concern for parents, who are constantly aware of the safety and of their children and of the environment that they\u2019re going to be growing up in.\u201d

\nA 45 per cent of Netmum readers were concerned about the price of alcohol increasing, feeling it would only affect ‘responsible drinkers’.

\nHome Secretary Theresa May said: \u201cWe welcome the views of everyone on how we can best take action to tackle problem drinking and alcohol related crime and disorder.
