Parents wasting at least £312 per year on ‘treats’

Many consider it a treat, but parents are throwing away a whopping £300 per year buying junk food treats for their children.

Putting ‘McDonald’s Parenting’ aside, mums and dads are paying an average of £312 per year, per child on chocolate, sweets, cake and savoury snacks.

MyVoucherCodes.co.uk, found that parents were buying the treats an average of four times a week, with a weekly average spend coming to £6.

Stopping bad behaviour was the main cause for 34 per cent of parents to buy the treats but 27 per cent did so simply because their child wanted them.
