The Baby Einstein Series

Introducing books to babies is a great thing to do and does not make you symptomatic of a pushy parent. Despite the many beautifully illustrated baby books available, what babies actually like to look at in the early days are high contrast black and white graphics and stark photography.

The Baby Einstein series is one that Chopsy Baby highly recommends.

Their fantastic ‘Babies’ book combines beautiful illustrations with photographs of babies, which captured our baby tester (6 months) and made her turn the pages by herself. Strangely her favoured page was Daddies love their babies returning again and again to the soft painting of a man and his child.

The Mirror Me! Mirror Book, was also popular with the under one age group. Large bright illustrations again captured our baby’s attention and she was very impressed with baby safe mirrors.

Popular with the over ones was the Animal Discovery Cards, a set of 29 flash cards with bold beautiful photographs of animals on.

On the reverse of the photographs was a set of brief facts to accompany the images. The set also contained four blank cards to add images of your own family to the collection if you wish.

Our test two year old loved going through these cards shouting out with glee the ones he recognised, and querying the ones he didn’t. Even after they were put away he kept getting them back out again to find his favourites.

A good accompaniment to the flash cards was the book Neighbourhood Animals, a beautifully presented book with large photographs of animals and a page of age appropriate facts to go with them.

The Baby Einstein range includes DVDs, CDs, toys, books and activity toys. There are products suitable for all ages and abilities, and you can be sure to find one your child will love.
