Debbie says: “I have recently returned to work after taking six months of maternity leave. My hair is a bit of a muddle and hasn’t really recovered from pregnancy – of which the ‘blooming’ part passed me by.

“Dull, lifeless and the before part of a shampoo commercial would be a fitting description of my postnatal hair. This seems to be a common problem with postnatal women but we are usually too busy to do much about it.

“Though Louise Galvin’s range is aimed at mums-to-be, if it ever wanted a real challenge then this would be it.

“For an average price of £24 a product, this is a high range product that needs to deliver excellent results.”

So what do you get for your money?

Gentle hair cleansers and chicory derived conditioners are formulated into The Mother To Be Shampoo. The pre-biotic formulation is designed to smooth cuticles for shine and manageability.

Mother To Be Conditioner contains pro vitamin B5, honey and Vitamin E for volume, vitality and to protect against environmental damage.

Traditionally used by pregnant women in the African Savannah, Ximenia oil is in the Mother To Be Treatment Masque to help maintain hair health. Vegetable soy lipids are blended in for shine, as well as Kukui and rapeseed.

And how did it do?

“Very impressively. I had found that my hair was ultra sensitive to shampoo and conditioner since becoming pregnant. Postnatally, it was even worse. Despite trying different ones out, I kept having an allergic reaction to each.

“I wasn’t expecting miracles from Louise Galvin’s range, but that was exactly what I got. From first use, my head felt cooler. The allergic reactions stopped and cleared up. My hair was easier to comb after washing and feels long and soft.

“When first using the shampoo and conditioner, the consistency doesn’t look very thick, but despite being free from industrial floor cleaner it lathered well and a little bit went a long way.

“The  Mother To Be Treatment Masque requires washing hair, drying then applying before rinsing. If most women are like me, this is far too involved. I simply applied it to my hair when I got in the shower and leaving it until ready to wash my hair. This seemed to work a treat. My hair was glossier than a Labrador in a dog food advert.

“Yes, the price is a budget stretcher but I found it totally worth it and will be using it in the future.”
