Make more of music warns Ofsted

School children are failing to benefit from school music lessons according to a new Ofsted report.

The report, ‘Making more of music’ found that music provision was outstanding in around half the schools visited where the subject had a positive impact on pupils’ personal development.

The report welcomes government funding for music but finds that it needs to be better targeted to have more impact.
