Childbirth and children spark our worry and fear

Giving birth or attending the birth of a child is the biggest lifetime fear factor.

According to research carried out on behalf of TV show Rookie Blue, 22 per cent found childbirth a Lifetime Fear Factor, followed by the first day of a new job and marriage.

Related fears having an operation came in at number four and losing your virginity at number six.

Even when the children are born we don’t stop worrying.

A total of 41 per cent of people spend more than two hours a day just worrying, with looking after the children being the third biggest worry behind paying the bills and problems at work.
