Cauliflower most commonly boycotted by fussy under fours

Cauliflower is the most common food boycotted by fussy eaters below the age of four years.

A total of 68 per cent refuse to eat the vegetable.

Cabbage, sprouts, minced beef and onions also proved unpopular food with young children.

According to a study by MyVoucherCodes.co.uk, 42 per cent of parents said their children were fussy eaters.

But, of these parents, just 34 per cent encouraged their child to eat the food they fussed about.

This was mostly due to the temper tantrums thrown by the youngsters.

“Inevitably, it seems that the results show that children are most likely to dislike the foods that are better for them; which can often be a problem”, Says Mark Pearson, Chairman of MyVoucherCodes.co.uk.

“With so much convenience food at our finger tips it can be very tempting to turn to fast food in order to avoid the tantrums, something I am sure that many parents have battled with in the past. However, I am sure that we are all aware of the health issues spreading across the UK that are a direct result of a poor diet, so hopefully this is enough to encourage parents to be a little more persistent with their children and what they eat.”
