Swimming is a life skill that can save a child from drowning

Parents are being urged to teach their babies the important life skill of swimming, as drowning is still the third highest cause of accidental death among UK children.

Babies taking part in progressive training classes can be taught skills, such as turning on their backs or swimming for a solid object from very young ages.

Water Babies, teach parents how to teach their babies from birth, with some parents taking children along from just two days of age.

With regular sessions, babies will have the ability to swim from around the age of 30 months.
