North Bristol primary makes ‘outstanding’ in latest Ofsted inspection

A north Bristol primary school has been upgraded from a ‘good’ to an ‘outstanding’ in its latest Ofsted inspection.

The 729 pupil Bishop Road Primary School, was found to be outstanding in 27 separate measurements.

Head teacher, Gillian Powe, said: “I believe firmly in letting the report speak for itself. I am enormously proud to be head teacher of this school and to receive such a positive outcome from Ofsted is a huge boost to the entire team who work here at our school.

“It is our goal to put every child at the centre of every decision we make and every development we implement and I am delighted to see the dedication of the teachers, our parents and carers, our children and our governors reflected in this inspection. I am particularly grateful to all the pupils and staff who welcomed the inspectors into their classrooms and spoke to them about their experiences of the school so openly.”
