Nifty and natural travel products
Feeling sick? Stressed out? Can’t find the wet wipes to clean sticky hands or baby sick? Going on holiday is supposed to be fun, relaxing break away from the everyday chaos of life, but just getting there can be a real struggle.
We asked Debbie, a mum of one and member of the Chopsy Baby editorial team to try out some nifty products on her travels.
The Infantino Car Seat Organiser has lots of secure transparent and secure pockets which can hold the items you need for the family such as wet wipes, baby toys, nappies and when closed it forms a conservative looking bag that can be taken into work with your own paper work safely carried in the middle.
It fastens really easily to the seat in front and took up no extra room in a crowded car as it hangs flush against the seat and can be secured in place.
Debbie said: “This is a great product. I had to go to a meeting first thing in the morning before rushing away for the weekend. I was able to pack the things I needed for my child into the car seat organiser as well as the paperwork I needed for the meeting. Nobody there realised I had effectively turned up with a baby changing bag and it was all ready to open up in the car afterwards. It’s difficult to pack everything up in bags as when you travel with young children you still need to be able to access things like wet wipes, drinks or amusing toys very quickly and easily. I found the car seat organiser worked really well and I really like the fact that you can see exactly what is in each pocket.”

Feeling stressed out and you haven’t even reached the M5 yet? New Rescue Pastilles and the latest form of the Rescue Remedy range. The Rescue range contain a blend of Bach Original flower essences which work with your body to re-balance negative emotions and restore a sense of inner calm. The pastilles are elderflower and orange flavoured and suitable for children.
Debbie said: “I was sceptical that a sweet could make me feel calm. Being at a place ram packed with fun, and two excitable toddlers that were on fifth gear the entire time I would have liked a gin and tonic or two. I tried the pastilles instead. They had a nice flavour and the chewing action at least stopped me grinding my teeth. I did find by the end of the weekend I was chewing three at once though.”

Traveller, is a new roll-on travel sickness remedy designed to soothe nausea. It combines the natural essential oils of peppermint, ginger and geranium with essences of citrus fruits.
It is suitable for children and adults who are prone to motion sickness. Apply to temples, forehead, wrists, under nostrils and behind ears before and during travel as soon as unpleasant sensation arises.
Debbie said: “I have found in recent years that when I travel I really start to feel sick. I never used to when I was a child, but since having a baby it has really got bad. My skin is also really sensitive so I was a bit worried about using it, but I didn’t have any reaction to it at all. It smells really nice and I like the fact that it is small and compact so takes up no more room in bursting bags. It’s also nice that it is a natural product. I didn’t feel sick on the journey at all.”

[A’kin] Pure Emergency Gel is a natural gentle lotion enough to be used on irritated skin. It can be used as an everyday moisturizer or to soothe skin damaged by minor burns, windburn, sunburn, stings or allergies. It’s also good for children with skin irritated by runny noses.
Debbie says: “I didn’t need this myself, but my accident prone nephew is always becoming a cropper. He used some on his nose to soothe a carpet burn, on a scratch from a bed mountaineering incident, and on his face, which looked a bit sore from the windy beach. It’s fabulous stuff. We all used it to replace our anti-septic cream which we would use on dry or sore skin.”
